One of our friends is very careful with every cent he spends.
His family researches their purchases extensively, and buy only after they feel they have got a good bargain.
Their house had very less decoration and furniture when they moved in. They bought used but good furniture little by little, and now their home is warm and welcoming.
It leads me to think that, by being ultra-careful of how much they spend, they
1) postpone buying something till they are certain they need it, and
2) end up with a superior product, because they research the hell out of the purchase, and
3) keep their house clutter-free, they do not buy things just because they are cheap, and clean-up is a lot easier when you’ve got lesser stuff.
